Tomas Perez
Tomás was born and raised in San Ysidro, where he spent formative years drawing, playing music and crossing the border to Tijuana, Mexico to visit friends and family. After studying Political Science at UC Merced, he moved back to San Diego to grow as a grassroots community organizer and multi-media producer with local human rights nonprofits and advocacy groups. In 2022, Tomás enrolled in a Masters of Architecture program at the NewSchool of Architecture & Design and joined RNT Architects as a designer in 2025.
Tomás is a designer with big love and respect for community, the land and culture. He believes small scale ideas & action can lead to big impact.
When he's not working, Tomás enjoys running, strength training, song writing, photography or sharpening some other new skill.
