David Hupp
David's origin began in the Central Valley of California, where he grew up surrounded by quiet citrus orchards, spending his summers backpacking in the Sequoia National Forest with his family. David's nudge towards the world of architecture came at an early age and from a variety of influences, like his early obsession with making forts, his knack for replicating cartoon illustrations, and his admiration for his dad's landscape designs. He grew up in the world of sports and marching band - no doubt a source of his competitive drive that still shows up in nearly everything he does.
David received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, CA. Inspired to practice in a metropolitan area, he then immediately moved to Los Angeles, where he spent over five years establishing his early professional life. David’s passion within architecture is that of storytelling. He sees every project as a complex web of interwoven design problems that can be carved out, deconstructed, untangled, and reimagined into a solution that creates order, rationality, and inspiration. One of his primary drivers in life is to connect the work he does with the community he lives in, by serving and helping others.
Beyond the field of architecture, David has always lived a life of creative expression - beginning as a musician playing the drums, later discovering the world of improv theater in college, followed by a newfound passion for Latin dance culture while living in Los Angeles. His endless curiosity and amusement can sometimes prove as both a blessing and a curse, feeling enchanted by nearly all things in the world, wanting to live a thousand different lives and yet being limited to only one life here on earth. These philosophical conundrums inspire him to always dream big while still appreciating every passing moment.
