RNT Architects worked with KTU&A Landscape Architects to design a new pedestrian transit node at the bridge intersections of Interstate 15. The project includes new pedestrian plazas at the bridge level that link to rapid transit nodes below. At these plaza levels, new gateway structures will enhance the sense of arrival from University Avenue and El Cajon Boulevard into the Mid-City communities of San Diego. The structures include retail spaces, shade canopies, restrooms, Boulevard signage, and a “community arc” that creates a symbolic gateway.
