Located in the community of Scripps Ranch Village, this 17,000 square foot recreation center is used jointly with the new Thurgood Marshall Middle School built next to the park. The community center includes a full gymnasium, classrooms, community rooms, kitchen and office. Design features include a pedestrian breezeway that leads the visitor through the project to the park beyond, structures that create shaded outdoor spaces and make connections to the outdoors and a central community gathering point.
