Four new 1,400 sf unisex comfort stations replaced aging existing comfort stations
located at the Palm Canyon Campground at Anza Borrego State
Park. The new stations use the State's standard floor plan
design and house six unisex bathrooms and four unisex showers.
Because of desert conditions, the metal roofs of the new concrete
masonry structures are designed to provide large shaded areas
for the campground users. Small outdoor gathering spaces with
seat walls are added to provide outdoor social spaces for
the campers. This project won the 2004 AIA Honor Award.
