The South Oxnard Branch Library was designed through
a community outreach program with the Friends of the Library,
the local community and City staff.
The library is designed around a central courtyard that provides
outdoor reading spaces, as well as natural daylighting into
the library itself. Interior spaces include a children's reading
area, adult and teen reading areas, and an area for the Library's
Spanish collection. The scope of work for this project includes
the design of plans and documents for the State of California
Reading and Literacy Improvement and Public Library Construction
and Renovation Bond Act of 2000.
